Waste Recycling Academy Queensland

About WRAQ

Queensland’s waste and recycling sector is specialist work. WRAQ provides the training to match: courses designed for the realities of the job, backed by the industry body that represents it.

Powered by WRIQ

Waste Recycling Academy Queensland (WRAQ) is the training initiative of WRIQ — the Waste Recycling Industry of Queensland, the peak body representing 90+ organisations across the state’s waste and recycling sector.

WRIQ established WRAQ to address a long-standing gap: quality, industry-specific training that reflects how this sector actually works — designed by operators, for operators.  Find out more about WRIQ →

Our mission

For decades, waste recycling professionals have had to rely on construction certifications and courses that are often ill-suited to the day-to-day realities of a waste recycling operation.

Representing more than 90 Queensland-based waste recycling organisations of every size, WRIQ understands better than anyone how critical specialised training is to the people in our industry, and we are committed to making a difference.

Our goal is to empower people in every part of the waste recycling industry, including those who work at major landfills, transfer stations and resource recovery facilities (including advanced manufacturing).

Our board

Waste Recycling Academy Queensland is governed by Waste Recycling Industry Queensland (WRIQ). With a board that consists of wide representation across all areas of the waste recycling industry, our commitment to providing specialised training to support all waste recycling workers runs deep.
